Rev. Tac Coley
Timmy Alec Coley
Born: August 28 | Albemarle, NC
Rev. Tac Coley’s journey into ministry began not in a seminary classroom, but in a dairy barn. A proud graduate of the "School of Hard Knocks" — and North Stanly High School (Class of 1976) — he spent years working as a Dairy Herdsman at Sunnybrook Farms. It was there he half-jokes that God told him, "You’ve done so well with those cows, I’m going to trust you with a few of My sheep... and a few old goats."
In 1994, he followed his bride, Rev. Sharon L. Coley, into parish ministry, answering a call that’s led to decades of service, study, and community building. He served as Student Pastor at South Broad UMC in Rome, GA while earning a B.A. in Religion from Berry College (1994–1998). He then completed his Master of Divinity at Candler School of Theology, Emory University, in 2001.
Over the years, Rev. Coley has faithfully served:
Beyond the pulpit, Tac is a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He married his beloved Sharon on May 31, 1980. Together they’ve raised two wonderful children — Paul Coley (Cedartown, GA) and Sam Blaylock (Rome, GA) — and are blessed with a growing legacy of 12 grandchildren... with twin great grandsons on the way!
